OI!

Ref Team Zebra
Start Date:
Raw Meat 2009
Height:
168 cm

Derby Assets:

My ability to pick up momentum like a runaway freight train.

Special Derby Move:

The culturally explicit, no holds-barred, “GETOFFNOW”, command.

Greatest Derby Moment:

The camaraderie among the 2009 Freshies pre the ‘Big Test’.

Off-skates Thrill Seeker Activities:

Extreme travel: Hanging with the Sadhu in Kathmandu, going bush with the Kalahari Bushmen etc. There’s one planet and not enough time…lots of exploring to do.

Origin of Derby Name:

I love learning languages and have a deep interest in anthropology. “Si” means “yes” in Italian and Spanish. I just love the irony of a ref encouraging anarchy in players…what can I say but I’m a skating oxymoron!

Bio:

Si Si Riot was orphaned from birth. She took refuge in libraries, skating rinks and the occasional roller disco. Si Si soon developed a grave dissatisfaction with the way society is sanctioned and took to living in London squats during the 80’s. Here she fought off rats and New Romantic enthusiasts who were later to be known as Goths. Her life turned around when she found a pair of discarded yellow Dunlop Torches next to a Salvos bin. While she never claimed to accept the righteous demands of society, she discovered that roller derby was a way to attain true happiness.
